A little time to create

Choose. Explore. Make it yours.

You don’t need to arrive with a finished design. We’ll start with the materials and build from there.

  1. Find your starting point.

Meet the materials, choose from the prepared shapes and explore a few possibilities with a demonstration from me.

  2. Follow your colour.

Try painted marks, lines and layers of coloured glass. There’s time to experiment, ask questions and develop your own design.

  3. Let the kiln do its part.

Your work stays with me for firing. I’ll let you know when it’s ready to collect and enjoy at home.

The practical things

Your making materials, sorted.

  • Prepared glass shapes and decorating materials
  • Use of shared workshop tools
  • Demonstrations and guidance from Lee
  • Kiln firing after your session

A little patience, then a little magic.

Glass needs time in the kiln and time to cool. You won’t take your finished pieces home on the day. The collection timeframe will be stated with each workshop before you book.

Come ready for a working studio.

Wear enclosed shoes and clothes you’re happy to make in. If you have access needs or would like to discuss the studio environment, get in touch before booking.

Your host & glass artist

Hello, I’m Lee.

I’m a kiln-formed and cast glass artist working in Mount Helena. The colours, forms and textures of Western Australia are at the heart of my work.

My workshops invite you into that world of glass, with prepared shapes, guidance and room to discover what you enjoy making.

A little more about me

Before you visit

A few things you might be wondering.

Do I need any glassworking experience?

No. The introductory workshops are for adults, including complete beginners. You’ll work with prepared glass shapes and I’ll guide you through the decorating process.

How many pieces will I make?

The project, number of pieces and final shapes will be listed with each workshop before bookings open. That way you’ll know exactly what’s included.

When can I collect my finished glass?

Your pieces stay at the studio for kiln firing and cooling. Each workshop listing will give a collection timeframe. I’ll contact you when your work is ready. Ask before booking if you need your work for a particular date or want to discuss postage.

Where are the workshops held?

At my Mount Helena studio in the Perth Hills, Western Australia. Confirmed participants will receive the studio address and arrival directions with their workshop information.

How will bookings work?

When public sessions are ready, the workshop button will take you to TryBooking for dates, prices, availability, ticket terms and secure payment. An expression of interest does not reserve a place.

What if I need to change or cancel a booking?

The terms for each workshop will be available in TryBooking before payment. Please read them before you book and email me if you have questions about changing a booking.
