Glass shaped by place.
Contemporary kiln-formed glass exploring the colour, pattern, structure and shifting light in Western Australia
I work with glass as a way of looking more closely at place.
Rather than reproducing landscape literally, I draw from its underlying patterns — contour, depth, branching, fracture, growth and light.
Working with kiln-formed and cast glass in my Perth Hills studio, I translate these observations into objects, vessels, sculpture and works for interior and outdoor spaces.
Three Elements…
GRANITE
LAND
Ancient · enduring · foundational
Contour, mass and mineral structure translated through layers of glass and light.
NERITIC
WATER
Fluid · luminous · connecting
Shallow ocean depth, shifting colour and bathymetric line become translucent layers of blue and green.
CANOPY
LIFE
Growing · adapting · renewing
Branching structures, filtered light and layered greens reflect the changing architecture of the bush.
The landscape is not an image to reproduce. It is a structure to notice.
line · colour · depth · light

Glass artist · Perth Hills, Western Australia
My practice grew from a fascination with what glass can hold: colour, light, fragility, weight and change. I work from my studio in the Perth Hills, using kiln-forming and casting to develop contemporary glass objects and sculptural works.
MADE FOR A PLACE

Some works begin with a particular place.
I work with private clients, designers and organisations to create glass works responding to architecture, landscape and setting.
